MOR - Review

Got my hands on some beautiful new products from Australian brand MOR!

Established in 2001, MOR is a pioneer brand of bath, body and lifestyle products, and each collection will take you on a sensory journey from the beautiful scents to the opulent packaging.

If you know me, I love anything pink! So when I laid my eyes on their fab Marshmallow range I literally died and went to heaven! Well, not quite, but I did get a little excited!

Firstly because the packaging is just beautiful and secondly because this particular range smells so good. A sweet and delicate fragrance.

The inspiration behind the range is the Botanical gardens full of flirtatious flowers! Sounds delightful doesn't it?

The Fragrance:

'Vanilla Musk with Jasmine Flower gloriously rapture in this pretty, feminine fragrance. Sugar dipped Rose Petals with White Carnation and Cotton Candy blend beautifully to create a deliciously sweet perfume.'

Top Notes: White Carnation and Marshmallow

Middle Notes: Jasmine, Althaea Flower and English Rose
Base Notes: Sugar, Madagascan Vanilla and Snow Musk

There are many products in the Marshmallow collection including, Eau de Parfum, Body Scrub, Body Oil, Hand Cream, Lip Balm and many more to compliment the range.

There are some stunning collections within the MOR portfolio including Snow Gardenia, Blood Orange and Lychee Flower to name a few.

They have introduced minis in their 'Little Luxuries' collections which are so cute and dainty.

MOR can be purchased online at www.beautysolutions-me.com or from Virgin stores across the region as well as other selected stores.

Hope you love it as much as I do!

A chat with professional make-up artist.... Hannah Lisa

Recently I met with professional make-up artist Hannah Lisa to have a quick chat about make-up and beauty.

I mean who would not want to sit and chat for an hour about make-up??

Time flew, we chatted about all aspects of make-up and we excitedly went through my make-up bag.

I was a little scared to share the contents with such a professional as I was waiting for her to tell me I was using completely the wrong products or brushes but I was pleasantly surprised that she was happy to see the various products inside my beauty bag and she gave her comments to me.

I learned so many tips and tricks from her and I got all the answers to my questions.

The things I learnt:

💗 Not to use any contour product with a shimmer in it!

ðŸ’— As my skin is very fair and my eye make-up is quite black, dust it over with brown eye shadow and layer it which will soften the look and make it last longer!

ðŸ’— Use primer to fill in those lines (Yes age is creeping up) especially above my top lip and use lip liner to avoid bleeding lipstick!

ðŸ’— As my skin is quite dry, only use powder over my concealer application under my eye triangle area and my t-zone - no need to powder over whole face.

ðŸ’— Invest in a Beauty Blender for a smoother foundation application and dampen it first! Dab it all over the face in a tapping motion rather than rubbing it so it applies a more smooth look and doesn't remove the product from your face. There is a mini sized beauty blender which can be used for concealer and can reach right into the corners of you eye ensuring no creases...

ðŸ’— Use Black Khol in my upper inner rims (tightline) to define my eyes more and give a more open look to the eye. This works well not to loose any lid space and especially works well with people who have hooded eyes.

ðŸ’— Use nude liner (not white) on my lower water line to brighten the eyes.

ðŸ’— Lastly, make-up brushes play the most important part and ensuring that I use a separate brush for each different job.

Repetto SS17

Recently I attended the Repetto SS17 collection presentation at Fortnum & Mason at The Dubai Mall. Such a wonderful venue with an outdoor terrace which showcases the collection with a stunning view of The Burj Khalifa in the background.

The stunning collection drew its inspiration from 'Signs', a legendary ballet at the crossroads of art and classical dance.

It is unusual for Repetto to be so bold with their colours and I was quite surprised to see a collection of bold primary colours, geometric forms, and poetic accents.

This season, Repetto dares to mark out the stylistic leaps and bounds of a new femininity, one charged with romanticism, character, and with bold choices of styles and materials that offer a greater freedom of movement: delicate, powder pink creations feature alongside graphic pieces offering joyful reinterpretations with colourful curves.

Through subtle touches that echo the paintings of “Signs”, Repetto also plays on contrasts by exploring beautiful gradients on skirts, leggings, sneakers, and ballerinas. All these aesthetic chapters reflect the abstract choreographic tableaux of “Signes”; each piece is unique yet part of a harmonious whole, like the colorful days of a summer that flow into one another while each bringing something new...
My favourite part of the collection is the teeny tiny baby shoes! They are just beautiful and my daughter would have the prettiest feet wearing them. They have the same print matching for baby, child and adult so my daughters and I could have matching shoes which would be so much fun!!

An Illustrator was sitting in the corner sketching beautiful drawings of attendees and handing them out as a keepsake. Such a beautiful gift and she drew with ease and effortlessness that was just mesmerising to watch.

Fortnum & Mason at The Dubai Mall serve the loveliest tea of all the flavours you can possibly think of and anyone who knows me, knows that I am addicted to tea so this was a delicious treat!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

February Favourites!

March already?? Where on earth did February go? I blinked and it was over....

I guess that means its time for my February Favourites!! Yay....
This month, I have lots of cool things to share with you that I have been loving throughout February and probably will continue to use all of these products again and again....

Firstly I will start with Bath products:

1. Bourjois Refresh me! Hydra-Fresh Shower Gel. An Aquatic fragrance of Blue Lagoon flowers which gives moisturised and revitalised skin.  I like this brand of make-up but am surprised to find shower gel also! We don't get these particular shower gels in the UK so it's nice to have something different here in Dubai. It smells fresh and the smell is quite strong, lasting for a while after showering.  Its paraben free and is also very inexpensive! The packaging is so cute with pretty colours and a lovely shape with a cute golden ball on top of the lid making it vert easy to open.

2. A Lush favourite of mine is the Satsuma Bath Bomb. I absolutely love this product as it smells yummy and wondrous. Its fresh citrus juice and Sicilian mandarin oil make my skin feel so soft and supple. The whole bathroom smells of Satsumas for days afterwards! Its a Vegan product also. Wrapped in a cotton scarf its the perfect gift. I believe in the UK this was exclusive to the Oxford Street store and I did have trouble finding it here in Dubai as it wasn't on display but the store assistant managed to grab me a piece from the stock room so I was very happy as I heard lovely reviews on it from UK vloggers.

Secondly, I have a few hair care products:

1. I've never used Bumble and Bumble Hair products before and was given some travel sized bottles to try and I honestly love this brand - the Hairdesser's Invisible Oil shampoo and conditioner is really lovely and leaves my hair so smooth and smelling just gorgeous! I will definitely be purchasing the full sized bottles. The conditioner contains 6 featherlight oils which help soften, silken, tame, de-frizz, detangle and protect the hair! This range is perfect for dry hair.

2. Sachajuan Protective Hair Perfume. Now this is a product that normally I would never buy as I honestly feel maybe its a waste of money but OH. MY. GOODNESS. it is absolutely amazing - the smell is just divine! I am literally addicted to this stuff!! It smells better than any actual perfume I own!! I use it sparingly as its a little expensive but its totally worth every dirham! I love it!!

Next up is my make-up favourites:

1. I love Rimmel for my everyday foundation. I've been using Wake me up anti-fatigue foundation which is skin brightening with Vitamin C and it also contains SPF 15 which is very important for me living in the sun - we need a good face protection everyday. It gives full coverage with a dewy finish and the texture it quite light so its perfect for everyday foundation. The shade I am using is 200 Soft Beige. A little of this product goes a long way.

2. I also tried Rimmel's Match Perfection 2-in-1 skintone adapting concealer and highlighter in the shade 030 Classic Beige.  I use this under my eyes and around my nose and it does what it says on the packaging. Its a good combination with my foundation and I particularly like that it has a brush applicator which makes it easy to apply and then I just pat is around my eyes and nose using my finger.

3. Victoria Beckham Lipstick in the colour 01 Brazilian Nude is the perfect everyday nude lipstick. It has a nice silky finish to it which I love and is just very easy wearing to the office and during the weekend. It's been my go to lipstick during the month of February.

4. Madame La La Bronzing Ball - I am absolutely loving this product! It was inspired by Young Hollywood's rising starlets and it's basically a 180degree dome shaped cream bronzer ball that can be used to bronze, contour and highlight the face. No make-up brushes are needed and it just glides on very easily. It can be used on cheeks, lips, eyes and all the places where the sun would usually hit. You can certainly achieve an effortless LA glow in seconds, as it says on the packaging!

And finally Skincare:

1. Last but not least is the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Turnaround Magic Cream. I have been using this all throughout February and its the first product I have used of Charlotte Tilbury and I am quite impressed. The cream makes my skin feel instantly smoother and my make-up applies much more easily. It smells really lovely also. I will definitely be purchasing this again.

So thats a wrap for my February Favourites!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and checking out the products I've been loving.
Bye for now!

The Lab Beauty Store

If you are a beauty & make-up junkie like me then you will be so happy to hear 'The Lab Beauty Store' has opened its doors at City Walk 1, Dubai!

A very clinical white space, filled with beautiful colours! It was such a pleasure to be invited to the launch event and what a brilliant time we had testing and discovering all the amazing and wonderful brands that have been brought over from the USA and abroad.  I always hated the fact I couldn't get my hands on those palettes that the You Tubers create and American Bloggers rave about..... well, now I can and if I have any requests for new brands I can just let The Lab know.

A multi-brand shop including Lip Land, LA Girl, Japonesque, Be Bella Cosmetics, Girlactik and Velvet 59 to name a few. I noticed HAN Skin Care Cosmetics which are 100% natural and suitable for Vegans.

They literally sell everything from beauty tools, brushes and brush shampoo to nail wraps, eye lashes and lip balms and everything in between in every shade you could possibly imagine!

I managed to purchase a couple of palettes from my favourite You Tuber Carli Bybel and also my favourite New Zealand You Tuber Shannon from @Shanaanxo which are amazing. This is the only store in Dubai selling these brands by BH Cosmetics. I was like a kid in a candy store once again.

Prices are very reasonable! It is a must to check out for all your beauty needs! I cannot wait to try all my new make-up!!
I love it! 💗

Good Luck to The Lab Beauty Store on their debut opening and I can't wait to visit again soon!

Love,
